The WorldSSP Tissot Superpole session at the TT Assen Circuit was a thrilling display of speed and strategy, with Lucas Mahias claiming his tenth pole position and a French 1-2 finish alongside Valentin Debise. Mahias' late charge with a time of 1'36.490s secured his dominance, while Debise's 1'36.561s effort was enough to secure second place. Albert Arenas rounded out the front row with a strong 1'36.572s, setting the stage for an intense race on Saturday.
The session wasn't without its drama, however. Xavi Cardelus' crash at the exit of the final chicane caused a red flag, disrupting the flow of the session and requiring medical attention. Despite the setback, Mahias and Debise's performances were a testament to their skill and determination.
Tom Booth-Amos, who led the session after the red flag, ultimately settled for fourth place, while Can Oncu, who also took pole at Portimao, struggled to convert his pole position into points in the previous round. Alessandro Zaccone's late charge saw him sneak into the second row for sixth place.
The session also marked a significant step forward for Mattia Casadei, Philipp Oettl, Jaume Masia, and Simon Jespersen, who all achieved their season-best results. Dominique Aegerter's 1'37.045s effort was a critical Superpole result for the Swiss rider, who has had a challenging start to his WorldSSP return.
